Evocative Images of Dynamic Portland DJ Out in the Field

Look, I don't talk about this on Human Centric Media's website super often, but I LOVE TO DANCE. It's one of my defining characteristics and key to understanding me as a person. The joy and exuberance are part of what makes me such a good Creative Director.

So creating a commercial photoset for Lapaushi, an incredibly talented Ecuadorian DJ and producer here in Portland, was an absolute dream gig.

We caught her during her set at JUDY, a spectacular event series hosted at White Owl Social Club in SE. The dance floor was humming with energy, as spring turned to summer and crushes turned into flings.

There's something so magical about what music makers and DJs do — compel human bodies to move in harmony, connect, and embrace a fluid form of consciousness.

In creating commercial photos for Lapaushi's website and social media, we sought to capture not just her impeccable style but how much she loves her job. It's a huge part of what makes her so good at it, her sets so memorable, and dancers coming back for more.
