We create things all the time at Human Centric Media, but I wouldn't call what we do construction. There's a whole different craft to creating structures out of base materials. You have to follow the plans and regulations, I imagine, but it must also help to imagine what someone might use the space for. What dreams the structure might help a person pursue.
Also stretching, lots and lots of stretching. Media production is like that too.
Idir of Freestone Builders approached us needing some new portraits for a refresh of their website. It wasn't enough, for either of us, to just capture the man's face and move on. We wanted these commercial portraits to convey a sense of the grit and effort that it had required to build the business. The elbow grease he pours in each and every day.
Something I love about these photos is the pride. You can tell how much Idir loves his job. What it unlocks in his life.
When we create images for a commercial enterprise, we're always reaching for their why. What gets them out of bed in the morning, and keeps them pushing for more.
That's the fire people want to see.
